Cry Free Onion Chopping

I used to dread cutting onions until I learned a more efficient way to cut them. To prep the onion:

- Using a very sharp knife cut the top and bottom, slice in half (from top to bottom).

- Peel off the papery onion layers.

- Other methods: freeze or soak onion in water before chopping.


1. Make lengthwise cuts as close to the top of the onion as possible.

2. Gently make 1-3 horizontal cuts (parallel to the chopping board) depending on the size of chopped onion you're wanting.

3. Make crosswise cuts.

4. Chop onions finer if needed.


Or... you go with my boyfriend's suggestion and use a slap chop :).
